I find myself being very drawn in to the parts with much lighter application of ink. They really make we want to get in close enough to examine the subtleties!
On your long strip I enjoy the top two images moreso than the bottom (more saturated) one. They are beautiful! As Ethan said they make you want to get in close and check it out even more. One thing that I wanted to bring up is that in your statement, and our discussions, you have talked about the calm and the mystery of nature, the quietness, etc. Even as you talk about your working while the snow is swirling and whirling outside your cozy home...all of these are so calm/cozy/quiet/tranquil/relaxing/etc. but yet some of the prints you showed during your presentation and your process prints here have the brighter colors... Could you explain your choice of using this coloring rather than a calmer cooler palette? Sometimes we do things that conflict with what we have said/written when really there is something inside us telling us to do it differently. I just wanted to point out that for me, personally, there is a disconnect between what you have said and what I have seen in some of the work (other pieces you showed were right on!). I look forward to your response! I'd like to meet with you sometime to look at the series from the presentation and give you some feedback if you'd like.
I love that green. Great job Donna ! I am more drawn the ones with the greater value range, ie, the one on the very bottom. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next!
I like the scale of your work. That's really impressive. The light would play important part during presentation. I would try to point light from the different directions and to see which effect would be more beneficial for your work.
You are off to a great start - and already you have done more with your blog than I have with mine - way to go!
